Silence is Golden

Just like they remind us in theaters, on the web "Silence is Golden".  Sites that starts blaring music or automatically start playing a video are jarring and can cause visitors to leave faster than you can say "shhh".  If you want to include a video or an audio clip to your site, let the visitor have control of hitting the "play" button.
